Work out your quantities
Simple rules for estimating nails, barbed wire and stirrups. Send us your figures on WhatsApp and we confirm the quantities with your quote.
Nails
Tell us the nail size and how many kilograms you need. Nails are packed in 25 kg bags, so we round your order to whole bags and confirm it with your quote.
Barbed wire
Rolls needed is about fence length × number of strands ÷ roll length, rounded up. A 25 kg roll is about 300 to 320 yd; lighter rolls are shorter in proportion. Add extra for corners and gates.
Stirrups
Stirrups per beam or column = member length ÷ stirrup spacing from the drawing, plus one. Standard sizes are 6 × 6, 6 × 9 and 9 × 9 inch; other sizes are bent to your schedule.
